Quantum Sheep and the Wonderful Wolds

After 12 months in development, Stardotstar today delivered the first of three kiosks to the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Launched by Lord Rooker (Minister for Sustainable Food and Farming and Animal Health), the Cotswold stone clad kiosks contain a true 3D arcade game with 4 levels set in a different times and locations in and around the Cotswolds over the past 3000 years.

Our super hero is a Cotswold Lion Sheep - the breed of sheep responsible for England's wealth in the medieval days don't you know. Being both a sheep and time travelling explorer, there was only one possible name: Quantum Sheep...

Aimed at 7-11 year olds, it is your job to guide Quantum through the Pre-historic, Roman, Medieval and Victorian Cotswolds in order to rescue a little lamb who's got himself lost in a time tunnel. But it's not just fun, fun, fun. Oh no! There's some serious education going on here too! Each level is packed with fun and facts and the accompanying lesson plans mean there's room for Quantum Sheep as part of a healthy diet at school as well.

By playing the game, children will develop an awareness of the Cotswolds as well as a desire to visit; each level highlights how human intervention has physically changed the landscape over the millennia as has our relationship with it. The kiosks will start their lives at Bristol Zoo, Windmill Hill and Noah's Ark (also in Bristol) before making their own journey around the outskirts of Cotswolds.

And if Lord Rooker gets his way, we'll have one more in London too: 'We should have one of these in House of Lords!' said Rooker. We'll see what I can do M' Lord!
